George Clooney Says He Knew Amal Would Change His Life Forever When He First Met Her

No couple is more suited and admired than George Clooney and Amal Clooney.

When they met, George Clooney was very content being the most famous bachelor in the world. Listen, I didn't want to get married," he said in a recent interview with podcast host Marc Maron (via People). 'I didn't want kids either. And then this special someone came into my life and I just fell madly in love. The moment I met her, I knew that everything was going to change."

He added, "I was like, 'I'm going to have a baby.'

Later, the subject of children came up, and George realized that he wasn't so opposed to the idea after all. 'About a year after we got married, we went to a friend's house, and there were kids there, and they were loud and obnoxious. We went for a walk outside.' She had never thought about that. And she said, 'We're so lucky in life. And I said, 'Well, we're lucky to have found each other. And she said, 'Well, it sounds like you should share that good fortune with others.

The actor continued, "And I just said, 'Well, you know, if you're in,' and she said, 'I think you should try.' And I have to say that was very emotional.

Soon after, twins Ella and Alexander were born into the world, and these days the former bachelor is a doting father of two. In a podcast, he explained that there is one thing he does not want to compromise in raising his children.

"I'm really conscious of two things. That means being aware of the dangers of being a celebrity with children and the dangers of having the means to have children," he said, explaining that his own childhood was much less fortunate. It taught me to be thrifty. I can survive in any situation. I can survive in any situation. I had to pass that on to my children. That's what's important to me."
