Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell seem to be incredibly thoughtful parents, as Shepard proved once again on his podcast Armchair Expert (opens in new tab).With two young daughters, Shepard and Bell (opens in new tab) have had to think about sex ( open in new tab) have had to think about how they want them to understand it, but their approach to the discussion seems positive and empowering.

"Let me tell you one thing my wife does that I think is original. She didn't make it up, she learned it from somebody else, so it quickly becomes, 'It's not about the man putting his penis in your vagina, it's about you deciding if you want this in your vagina,'" Shepard told guest Gwyneth Paltrow (opens in new tab)."

The father of two also discussed his attitude toward the archaic notion that he is responsible for "protecting" his daughters from having sex at all in the future. Of course," Shepherd said, "what every man tells me is that I should have a gun because men will come to me." This mindset, if necessary, must protect the virginity of our daughters with great prejudice."

He reversed this idea, explaining that it is hypocritical to portray sex as a bad thing. He said, "But if my daughters are horny and want to have sex, it was and still is my favorite act. I disagree that I get any respect from that act, but that's it." He drops the microphone.
