Kate Middleton and Prince William make Emma Watson laugh at the Earthshot Awards.

"What's so funny, Emma Watson?" it's a question that will haunt me until the end of time (OK, until I finish writing this article, but same difference).

In new photos by Getty royal photographer Chris Jackson (opens in new tab) released on October 21, Prince William (opens in new tab), Kate Middleton (opens in new tab), and Emma Watson (opens in new tab) are at the Earth Shot Awards (opens in new tab), who were laughing hysterically during the event. Unfortunately, I have no idea what they were talking about. My apologies.

But as a consolation prize, we did get to see more lovely pictures from the evening. Here is Prince George's favorite (open in new tab) the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge chatting with David Attenborough:

Here is Middleton helping another Emma (Thompson this time). She seems to be suffering from something (choking? Trip? Did you say something terribly embarrassing? Not me):

Next is Mr. and Mrs. Cambridge arriving at the event:

And last but not least, Kate Middleton, who is the picture of grace even with her back to the camera:

Prince William also earth-shot to People (opens in new tab) Awards and spoke about his hopes for the future of the planet. He said, "The urgency of this situation cannot be over-emphasized. But through the Earthshot Prize, I hope to show people around the world that there is reason for hope."

He added, "Seeing the amazing solutions developed by the first winners of the prize and all the finalists shows us that the answers are out there. By recognizing these efforts, helping them to be the best, and scaling them up, we can inspire confidence that a healthier, more sustainable future is within our reach"

.

The Duke also announced exciting news about where the Earthshot Prize is headed next. 'This is just the beginning,' he said. In 2022, the Earthshot Prize will head to the United States to continue to send an important message of urgency, optimism, and action."
