Kate Middleton at Glass Green, a nature-themed event in London
What color should royalty wear to an environmentally focused event? Green," implied Kate Middleton (opens in new tab), who showed up at Kew Gardens in London on October 13 as part of Generation Earthshots, an offshoot of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's Earthshot Awards (opens in new tab) initiative, when he met with a group of schoolchildren.
The goal of the event was to "generate big, bold ideas for restoring the planet and help ignite an enduring enthusiasm for the natural world."
On this occasion, Middleton decided to be bold in double bright green, wearing a knee-length green coat over a short-sleeved green sweater. He paired these two outfits with wide black pants and wavy hair.
The Cambridges (opens in new tab) posted a promo clip of the event on Twitter (opens in new tab), highlighting the various activities they had their children engage in throughout the day. 'Education is so important to protect our planet,' she said. We must inspire the next generation with the optimism, confidence, and enthusiasm to pursue solutions and continue to build a more sustainable future."
Along with two photos from the day (opens in new tab), they added:" We know that young children already recognize climate as one of their biggest concerns." And "Generation Earthshots aims to teach and encourage children that together we can find answers.
The Earthshot Prize (open in new tab) awards £1 million ($1.4 million) to people who come up with solutions to a wide range of environmental problems and funds projects close to their hearts in the hope that each solution will be adopted by a global organization or government.
