Britney Spears used to write some of her own songs (from CheatSheet (opens in new tab)), but she has shifted her creative focus away from music for the time being, instead penning a murder mystery novel for us.

The star announced the new project on Instagram (opens in new tab). I don't mean to overstate the case, but I would kick and scream if she didn't publish.

Speaking of plot, here's what Spears revealed: "I'm writing a book about a murdered girl: ...... But her ghost is stuck in limbo because of the trauma and pain and she doesn't know how to cross over into the world she knew!" She wrote. "After three years of being stuck in limbo, she has become a ghost who lives for her reflection in the mirror! She cannot trust anyone, but something happens and she finds a way to cross over to the world where her family is! Out of the emptiness, she is forced to make a decision: ...... Say hello to the people who killed her or create a whole new life. ...... She doesn't need a mirror anymore...... She is no longer afraid and has found a portal by constantly reciting a certain prayer that gives her the insight and talent to get out of limbo...... But what I leave to the imagination is what she will do once she crosses over: ...... Other than learn to write her own name again ！！！！"

Spears is the queen of metaphors (opens in new tab), and if the story she's writing is eerily reminiscent of her conservatorship, it's not entirely coincidental: for 13 years, the star has been virtually stuck in limbo, not knowing who to trust (her own Her father had taken a terrifyingly controlling role in her life (opens in new tab)), and she is now carving out a new life for herself-recently engaged to longtime lover Sam Asgari (opens in new tab), and the end of her conservatorship is finally in sight (opens in new (opens in new tab). We'll just have to wait and see what the next chapter holds for Spears.
