Prince William reportedly withdraws from Lilibet Christening in Windsor
The public has been waiting for months to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's second child, daughter Lilibet Diana. This is a major departure from the norm in the royal family (opens in new tab), where most women are unveiled with their newborns soon after birth. We don't even know what little Lilibetto looks like!
But rumors swirled that Harry and Meghan were taking Lilibet to England for a christening at St. George's Chapel in Windsor, and while they were at it, they might have found out why, according to NBC's royal correspondent Neal Schon in " Express (opens in new tab), it was Prince William who vetoed the idea of holding the christening in Windsor.
"Both Harry and Meghan were particularly keen to have the christening in front of Her Majesty the Queen. But it was aborted."
He continued:
"Moving forward, there is someone who has basically decided that there is no appetite for this, and he is not willing to kiss and make up with his brother at the moment. ...... According to a very good source, Prince William was the one who basically said, "No, this is not going to work, it's not a particularly good idea."
Express reached out to Kensington Palace for comment, but representatives declined.
Since the main focus of 2022 will be the queen's platinum jubilee, it will be interesting to see if the siblings can heal their differences, as they will almost certainly have to spend more time together before then.
