Chrissy Teigen's heartbreaking message to her "almost-born son."
It has been almost a year since Chrissy Teigen and John Legend tragically lost their pregnancy. In honor of her late son Jack on Son's Day, Teigen posted a photo (opens in new tab) of her and her husband in the hospital after losing their baby.
She wrote:" And to the son we almost had...a year ago you gave me the greatest pain I could have ever imagined. You showed me that I could survive anything, even if it wasn't what I wanted. I could not take care of you, but you came to help me learn to love and care for myself because our bodies are precious and life is a miracle. They told me it would get easier, but yeah, that hasn't started yet." Your mom and dad will love you forever.
The comments section was flooded with words of support, with comments sending love and compassion to Teigen and her family.
On October 1, 2020, Teigen announced her loss on Instagram (opens in new tab) and shared her grief and disbelief weakly." We are in shock and in the deepest pain you will ever hear. Despite many, many bags of blood transfusions, we were unable to stop the bleeding or give the baby the fluids it needed." It still wasn't enough."
She continued. We don't decide on a name for our babies until after they are born, right before they leave the hospital. But somehow we had come to call this little boy in our belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked hard to become part of our little family.
"To our Jack - we are so sorry that the first few moments of your life were hit with so many complications and that we could not give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you.
"Thank you all for sending us your positive energy, thoughts and prayers. We feel your love and really appreciate it.
"We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful Luna and baby Miles, for all the wonderful things we have been able to experience. However, not every day is sunny. On these darkest of days, we will grieve and cry. But we will hold tighter, we will love each other, and we will get through it."
Teigen and Legend share two children, Luna (opens in new tab) and Miles (opens in new tab), and Teigen also honored (opens in new tab) on his son's day, saying, "Nonsense, if he grows up and I post for my daughter's day instead of my son's day I wonder if he would be offended if he saw that I posted it for his daughter's day instead of his son's?" He wrote." I wonder if these will be complaints our children will have?" Anyway, I love you so much, son!"
