Lady Gaga stuns in dramatic Old Hollywood look at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures opening gala
Lady Gaga is the queen of the over-the-top look, but the meet dress era (open in new tab) is over. For her latest red carpet (OK, the carpet was green, but you catch my drift) appearance, the singer and actress did not come to play.
The day was the opening gala for the new Academy Film Museum (opens in new tab) in Los Angeles, and Gaga was there in an exceptionally dramatic look reminiscent of old Hollywood glamour. She wore a custom black velvet long gown by Schiaparelli (opens in new tab) with a huge sky blue satin shawl/overcoat/sleeve attached. Gaga casually draped it over one shoulder.
The star's hair was styled into a Marilyn blonde bouffant updo, held up by what appeared to be roughly three cans of hairspray. In terms of makeup, Gaga's eyes stole the show with bronze-toned shimmery eye shadow and 60s-style cat eye liner. She completed the look with large diamond earrings.
According to the Daily Mail (opens in new tab), Lady Gaga also performed at the gala that night. She took the stage in a sparkling silver halter-neck dress with a front opening and an outfit change. She was accompanied by a jazz band.
Lady Gaga will appear in the film "House of Gucci" with Adam Driver. The film has already generated a great deal of buzz for many reasons, not just the fabulous looks Gaga wore during filming (opens in new tab). Also, people are (understandably) totally obsessed with the pairing of Driver and Gaga (opens in new tab). Oh, I can't wait.
