Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may bring their children to the UK for Christmas
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not spent Christmas in the UK since 2018. But the birth of their daughter Lilibet earlier this year may be a chance to get things back on track, at least according to one royal expert.
Katie Nicole, royal editor of Vanity Fair magazine and author of the 2019 book Harry and Meghan: Life, Loss, and Love (opens in new tab), said in a conversation with Closer that the couple will have a Christmas 2021 She suggested that the couple is considering bringing Lilibet and Archie to the U.K. in order to facilitate their relationship with other family members. 'Christmas is seen as an opportunity,' Nicole told the magazine. 'It could pave the way for healing the family rift.'
She also added that the royal family is ready to let bygones be bygones if the couple decides to cross the pond with their children. 'That is what the queen wants. Prince Charles will want to see his grandchildren. The fact that they are meeting suggests that they want to move on and work things out," Nicole said.
And experts say that despite the drama, Harry and Meghan had always planned to return to England and spend some time there. 'When Harry and Meghan left home, they made it clear that they didn't want to give up their home in England. They still have Frogmore Cottage and they intended to return to England."
If they decide to make the trip for a vacation, it would be a major stepping stone. The rest of the royal family has yet to meet Lilibet, who was born in June, and has not seen Archie since early 2020. Plus, who wouldn't feel full of love during the holiday season?" it could be the perfect time to heal old wounds.
