Prince Harry comments that the Queen and Prince Philip are "the most adorable couple."
Despite their staid public image, Queen Elizabeth (opens in new tab) and Prince Philip (opens in new tab) were apparently a real fairy-tale couple - at least according to their grandson, Prince Harry.
In a new BBC documentary, "Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers," via Vanity Fair (opens in new tab), the Duke of Sussex says, "They were such a lovely couple together."
He was a grandfather.
He went on to describe what his grandparents' relationship was really like. Harry said, "For me, it's the incredible bond between them, knowing his cockiness and knowing that behind what the world sees are two people who loved each other very much and both dedicated their lives to service from an early age."
Now that Prince Philip has passed away (opens in new tab), Harry knows how difficult life is for the Queen without her husband by her side. 'I miss Prince Philip because of my grandmother,' Harry said. 'I also know that my grandmother will be fine without her husband.'
The documentary first aired in the UK on September 22 and was filled with sweet tributes from various family members of the late Duke of Edinburgh. Many instances of "cheekiness," as Prince Harry put it, were also featured, as when Philip joked that he might be dead on his next birthday.
Also highlighted were the more heartwarming moments of his family life, like when Princess Eugenie brought the boys (opens in new tab) to meet Philip's great-grandfather in August. His loved ones no doubt miss him, but his participation in this documentary seems to have given them some comfort.
