Prince Louis' unexpected first words were about baking.
Forget "mommy" and "no," the Express (opens in new tab) has republished Kate Middleton's startling insights about her now 3-year-old prince, which she revealed on her Christmas show. Mary Berry, a former judge on [The Great British Baking Show] and 86-year-old British bakery icon, will be familiar to any fan who has lived in the United States for years. Kate Middleton and Prince William are also fans. During the show, Kate explained to Mary that one of the first words Louis uttered when he saw the chef's face in his mother's cookbook was "Mary."
"One of Louis' first words was 'Mary' because he had all my cookbooks in the kitchen just at his height," Kate said in the special. And children are really fascinated by faces, and your face is everywhere in your cookbook, and he says, 'That's Mary Berry.'" And, she added, "He'll definitely recognize you when he sees you."
The special itself was full of cute moments of Kate and Mary Berry bonding. In the clip below, she also reveals that Prince William is quite a good cook and that he used to cook breakfast to get Kate's attention when they were in college! Check out this clip
We've been getting all sorts of cute news about Prince Louis lately. Just this week, Kate revealed that her kids have recently become obsessed with airplanes (opens in new tab) during a visit to an Air Force base. The royal children seem remarkably, charmingly normal.
