Princess Charlotte and Prince George and Prince Louis love airplanes.

Most children go through similar periods of train obsession, unicorn obsession, construction equipment obsession, etc. And according to Town and Country (opens in new tab), just because the parents are the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge doesn't mean they won't hit the same childhood milestones. Visiting Royal Air Force Brize Norton base this week, Kate Middleton told Sgt. Mark Curtis that Prince George, Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte can't get enough of flying.

The Duchess of Cambridge was at the airbase to speak with members of the Royal Air Force and others who helped with the air evacuation (open in new tab) of 15,000 civilians from Afghanistan after the Taliban took over the country last month. The operation has been hailed as the largest British humanitarian relief effort (open in new tab) in the last 70 years.

Speaking to T&C, Sergeant Curtis said of his conversation with the Duchess, "She said her children were very interested in aircraft. We are serving the queen, the country, the royal family. And obviously, it's great to have a boss at that level come in [and] pat you on the back for your hard work," he continued.

Lieutenant Colonel Calvin Bailey, who also met with Duchess Kate, said, "She is very charming and very nice ...... She wanted to show that she has knowledge and understanding of airplanes," he added.

It remains to be seen how the children's interest in airplanes will manifest itself, but perhaps Princess Charlotte and Princes George and Louis will follow in the footsteps of their father and uncle (open in new tab) and learn to fly one day.
