Kristen Stewart gets a standing ovation for her role as Princess Diana
Kristen Stewart was in Venice for the premiere of her highly anticipated new film "Spencer" in which she plays Princess Diana. Based on the early reviews, the film looks like it will be everything we hoped it would be. One critic, who was lucky enough to see the film before we did, called it "brilliant (open in new tab)," while another (open in new tab) described Stewart's portrayal of the lovable royal as "brave, scathing, moving, and utterly brilliant."
If Venice is any indication, Spencer will more than live up to the buzz. And now there is even a video of Stewart receiving a standing ovation after the festival screening. Dressed in a lovely (open in new tab) mint green frock and pants combination, she took her seat to thunderous applause from the audience. After all, at just 31 years old, Stewart has had a long and varied career in Hollywood! Now, it seems, she finally has an Oscar-worthy performance to her credit. [Spencer] follows three days in the life of Princess Diana and Prince Charles, depicting the final breakup of their marriage before their divorce. See the trailer for the new film here:
"Spencer" opens in theaters on November 5.
