On August 27, Kanye West hosted a live streaming listening party in advance of the release of his latest studio album, Donda. But because Ye is Ye (no, really (open in new tab)), this listening party ended up being anything but standard.

The album is named after his mother, Donda, who passed away (opens in new tab) in 2007; according to E! (opens in new tab), as part of a tribute to her, West recreated his childhood home as the set for the Chicago listening party.

The event featured controversial guests such as Da Baby and Marilyn Manson, but it was the ending that caught fans off guard. A special effect made it look like West was on fire, followed by a figure in a wedding dress and a translucent veil. Viewers immediately assumed this was Kim Kardashian, or at least her stand-in, but TMZ (opens in new tab) confirmed that it was actually Kardashian herself who appeared to support her ex-husband. She walked over to him as the organ played.

Fans digitally rubbed their chins on Twitter. 'Did Kanye just remarry Kim Kardashian and end the event? 'Kim and Kanye are the weirdest divorced couple I've ever seen.'

If Kardashian is willing to recreate the wedding scene with West, it's clear the former couple are very close these days. The TV personality and entrepreneur recently reflected on what her ex has added to her life in an episode of her podcast (opens in new tab).

"Having been in a 10-year relationship with Kanye, he was someone who didn't care about likability or impressions of him or anything like that. As long as you're being yourself and doing what you want to do, you only live once, and you're living for yourself."
