Ryan Reynolds celebrates Blake Lively's birthday.
Does the phrase "Ryan Reynolds trolls Blake Lively" bother you as if it were deja vu? That's because trolling (opens in new tab) appears to be a major pillar (opens in new tab) supporting that special marriage (opens in new tab). And according to this celebrity couple, the best time to troll your spouse (opens in new tab) is on their respective birthdays (opens in new tab), that's right.
Never one to shy away from tradition, Reynolds completely ignored Lively's birthday by posting on Instagram on August 25. Instead, the actor chose to pay tribute to Mariah Carey. Don't worry.
There are many layers to this, so fasten your seatbelts: first, Reynolds posted a TikTok (opens in new tab) hilariously lip-syncing Carey's song "Fantasy" to promote the movie "Free Guy" (opens in new tab) Carey then dueted this TikTok (opens in new tab) and deftly side-eyed the actor as he began his questionable dance moves. Carrie then reposted her TikTok duet on Instagram (opens in new tab) on Lively's birthday.
Reynolds saw the perfect opportunity and posted this TikTok installment on her Instagram Story with the caption, "My favorite thing that's ever happened on August 25th." In other words, Mariah Carey doing a duet trumps his wife being born. Reynolds then posted a bunch more on his Instagram Story, none of which had anything to do with Lively's birthday. Utterly cruel.
Thankfully, Lively is a very popular celebrity and woman. She has received several letters of support, including one from celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz that reads "HBD LUV U @BLAKELIVELY" and one from nail artist Nails by May, which reads "HBD LUV U @BLAKELIVELY.
This comes after Lively showed off one of her early birthday outfits a few days earlier, a dreamy green princess gown with cherries and an early gift, a Louis Vuitton handbag (opens in new tab).
