Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who gained from Archie's birth, "the energy to stand up for what's right for us.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle (opens in new tab) are devoted parents, and it is no surprise that parenting has been a major turning point for them.
In a new interview with People (opens in new tab), royal author and correspondent Omid Scobie explained that when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex (opens in new tab) welcomed their son Archie Harrison (opens in new tab) in May 2019, "whatever the outcome, they had the energy to stand up for what is right for us," she explained.
Scobie is an authority on Harry and Meghan's royal exit (and all the factors leading up to it). Along with fellow royal reporter Caroline Durand, Scobie co-authored Finding Freedom; Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family (opens in new tab), which was first released late last summer. The paperback edition will be released later this month (August 31) and includes a new epilogue covering major events in the Sussex couple's lives over the last year.
"As we've seen, those consequences have been pretty big," Scobie added. Harry and Meghan's departure from the royal family is quite unprecedented (at least in the modern royal position), and Scobie says they were quite nervous about the move." They were quite fearful of the consequences of stepping away and challenging the establishment"
.
But now that Harry and Meghan are settled in California (opens in new tab) with Archie and the newest addition to the Sussex family, Lilibet Diana (opens in new tab), by all accounts, the family (and the mental and emotional health of everyone there) health) first, with no regrets.
