Prince William and Kate Middleton send cards to mourners after the death of Prince Philip
Prince William and Kate Middleton (opens in new tab) have thanked those who offered their condolences following the death of Prince Philip this spring.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge sent a personal note to those who wrote kind words to their office as the royal family dealt with the loss of Philip earlier this year. The royal blogger account, Gert's Royal Replies (opens in new tab) (as the name implies, an account dedicated to sharing the replies the royal family sends to fans who write to them) this week shared photos of the notes on Instagram (opens in new tab) and Twitter (opens in new tab ) shared photos of the note on.
The folded card was accompanied by the respective monograms of Will and Kate (opens in new tab) and a photo of Philip in military uniform at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in 2012. The Cambridges had attached the following typed note inside:
"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge thank you for your kind words on the death of the Duke of Edinburgh.
Their Royal Highnesses have been incredibly touched by the many heartfelt messages received over the past few weeks.
Their Royal Highnesses all miss their beloved grandfather and great-grandfather, and your messages have been a great comfort during this difficult time.
