Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are in "Thrive Chapter," says royal expert
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry suffered excessive publicity (opens in new tab) by serving as senior royals, but that does not mean they do not intend to live as public figures in the future, only that they want to do so on their own terms.
Omid Scobie, a royal expert who co-wrote Finding Freedom (opens in new tab), about the Sussexes' journey out of the shackles of the monarchy, told People (opens in new tab) that now is the "age of visibility" for the Duke and Duchess, He discussed the couple's future.
"They are a couple who are very comfortable with moments of human contact," Scobie told the magazine. 'They need to be on the scene. They say the proof is in the pudding, and that's what we're going to see."
Scobie continued, "They seem to exist in a different place, and that place is much healthier. Princess Meghan famously said, "Survival is not enough." The expression here may be a bit unclear, but "thrive chapter" certainly has a ring to it.
As for what exactly the couple intends to do with their newfound freedom, there are a few clues. Markle started a "40x40" (opens in new tab) mentoring initiative on her 40th birthday, and the couple is supporting activities that are important to them (opens in new tab). They also signed a four-book deal (opens in new tab) with Penguin Random House, which includes plans for a Prince Harry memoir (opens in new tab). And of course, they will continue to focus on raising their sweet family of four (opens in new tab). Best wishes.
