Ryan Reynolds (opens in new tab) is apparently a member of the #FreeBritney (opens in new tab) movement.

The 44-year-old actor took to his Instagram story Thursday to show his support for Britney Spears (opens in new tab) in her ongoing conservatorship battle. Being Ryan Reynolds, of course, the support was accompanied by a healthy dose of irreverent humor.

Specifically, Ryan released a very poignant edited version of the poster for his new movie, Free Guy. That edited version was the main poster for the film, which depicted Ryan's character Guy (a video game NPC who becomes sentient and self-aware of a less-than-realistic reality) looking at his game world, but several key elements had been changed.

First, instead of holding a coffee cup in his right hand as in the original version of the poster, Ryan holds a proudly waving bright pink flag emblazoned with Britney's face and a hashtag that can only be "#FreeBritney (open in new tab)." Second, and most importantly, while the original poster displays the title "Free Guy," Ryan's edit is "Free Gal": "Free Gal" and supports efforts to end Brit conservatorship.
