Prince William reportedly concerned about the impact of Prince Andrew's scandal on the Queen.

Prince Andrew's ongoing sexual abuse scandal (opens in new tab) is understandably causing distress in the royal family. Prince William (opens in new tab) is reportedly one of the senior royals who is particularly concerned about how the scandal will affect Queen Elizabeth II (opens in new tab).

The 95-year-old monarch is now at her Balmoral residence in Scotland, where several members of the royal family are attending. The timing is opportune, though not specifically because of the Duke of York's (open in new tab) recent legal troubles. The Queen traditionally spends August at the estate and invites members of the Royal Family.

William and his father, Prince Charles (open in new tab), who gather around the Queen during this time, are reportedly in complete agreement on how to handle this situation.

"First and foremost, Prince Charles and William are united and Andrew will never return to public life," a royal source told the Mirror (opens in new tab). The source added that Will and Charles, "along with members [of the royal family], are no doubt increasingly concerned about the impact this uproar will have on the queen."

The latest report from royal officials comes as Andrew faces renewed scrutiny over his ties to Jeffrey Epstein (opens in new tab). Virginia Roberts Giuffre filed a lawsuit in New York on Monday accusing the 61-year-old royal of forcing her to participate in non-consensual sex on multiple occasions before she turned 18. [The Times of London (open in new tab) reported Thursday that sources close to Prince Charles said the senior royals were worried about the "unwelcome reputational damage to the institution"

of the monarchy as a result of the case.
