Earlier this week, Simone Biles responded to "unpopular opinions" from fans on her Instagram Stories. When one person opined that "abortion is wrong :)", Biles prepared a strong pro-choice (open in new tab) stance.

She wrote 'I already know this is going to start the biggest debate and I may lose some followers, but. I am very pro-choice. Your body. Your choice."

Preempting one of the objections pro-choice advocates often face, Biles continued. "Also, some people say, 'Why don't you just adopt,' but it's not that easy, and coming from someone who was in the foster care system, the foster care system is broken and it's tough. Especially for older children and young adults, adoption is expensive ....... I'm just saying.

And making the most of this opportunity to voice his opinion on another important issue of the day, Biles concluded his message by saying, "I'm not going to be a part of this. Or if you refuse to wear a mask.

The Olympian (open in new tab) said, "Do not misunderstand my words. Do not misunderstand my words. I did not say that I support abortion over placing children in foster care. My point was that you should not control another person's body or their decisions. Let's face it, it is control that you care about. ......"

She continued, "I have always and will always support foster children. Because I have been too. I have been an advocate for foster children and the system, but you wouldn't know it because you don't follow me and just like to open your mouth."

"Also, if you have a fake account, do not talk to me. You people piss me off. You twist my words any way you can to spread hate and I'm done with it. Also, if anyone is watching this, just know that I support you doing whatever you feel is right for you."
