Kim Kardashian Says Kanye West Helped Her "Be Yourself First"
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West just divorced in February 2021 (opens in new tab), but already Kardashian is taking a fresh, positive look at what West has added to her life. The star recently appeared on the "We Are Supported By" podcast (opens in new tab), hosted by Kristen Bell and Monica Padman, and credited her ex-husband for helping her find the confidence in herself that she lacked at different stages of her life.
"My 10-year relationship with Kanye taught me so much in the best way possible, as long as he stayed true to himself, without worrying about likability or any opinion of him. As long as you're being yourself and doing what you want to do, you only have one life to live, and you're living it for yourself."
Some may be surprised to hear that Kardashian has struggled with insecurities, especially given her imposing social media presence, but she said reconciling herself with vanity was part of the process. 'I love curating Instagram and taking a lot of pictures, probably because I'm more vain than most people. 'That's who I am, that's what I want to post, this is what I want to do. I really don't care anymore."
"I've gotten to the point where I really don't care.
"I used to be a people pleaser," Kardashian admitted.
"I think being myself is something I've learned over time." You love to see that.
