"Elizabeth was hurt and disappointed," Denison writes in the book, according to an excerpt published by Us Weekly (opens in new tab). Even though she had strong feelings about the abdication on a personal level, the queen quickly put the monarchy first and made it clear that Harry and Meghan could not use the title "Her Royal Highness" if they were not active members of the royal family.
