Dolly Parton comments on #FreeBritney movement and her own court battle experience

Dolly Parton (opens in new tab) wants only the best for Britney Spears (opens in new tab) in her conservatorship battle.

The 75-year-old country legend was asked about her thoughts on Spears' court battle and the #FreeBritney movement during a recent appearance on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

"Well, I try not to get involved in other people's business," Parton said of Spears' ongoing court battle to end her conservatorship. 'I think she's a great artist, I think she's a great girl, I think she's a great artist, I think she's a great girl. I just wish her the best."

Parton was hesitant to talk about the details of Spears' situation, but said she has some personal understanding of "all the crazy things" the singer is going through, thanks to her own experience dealing with litigation.

"I myself went through a major lawsuit in my early days with Porter Wagoner and tried to do it on my own. 'So I understand where she's coming from and how she feels. So I'm hoping that everything will turn out the way it should."
