Britney Spears Says She Can't "Fully Move Forward" Until She "Says All She Has to Say"

Britney Spears said in an Instagram post Tuesday that she has yet to "say all that needs to be said" as the court battle over the conservatorship that has controlled her life for 13 years continues. In a recent court hearing, Spears said her conservatorship (opens in new tab) prevented her from having her IUD removed, forced her to perform, and forced her to take psychiatric drugs against her will. She asked that her father, Jamie Spears, be removed as conservator and charged with "conservator abuse."

Addressing a now-deleted Instagram post, Spears said, "In a recent post, I said 'life goes on,' but it's easier said than done! In the moment, it felt like the easiest thing to say, but I think we all know that until we say everything that needs to be said, we can never let go and fully move forward. ......

"I've been told to keep quiet about things for so long, and I feel like I'm finally here," Spears concluded.

In an earlier Instagram post (opens in new tab), Spears called out her father Jamie and sister Jamie Lynn. "Look at ...... I'm not going to be performing on any stage anytime soon with my dad controlling what I wear, say, do, and think," she told her followers. I don't like the fact that my sister showed up at an awards ceremony and performed a remix of one of my songs! My so-called support system has hurt me deeply !!!!" She added.

Last week (opens in new tab), Spears said at a court hearing, "I am here to remove my father and charge him with conservatorship abuse." She continued by phone, "I have always been very afraid of my father."

At the same hearing, Judge Brenda Penny gave Spears the authority to choose her own attorney. Her new attorney, former federal prosecutor Matthew Rosengart, told reporters on Monday (open in new tab), "My office and I are moving aggressively and quickly to file a motion to dismiss Jamie Spears unless he resigns first."
