Prince Harry speaks privately with the Royal Family about his forthcoming memoir.

A representative for the Duke of Sussex told "People" (opens in new tab) that Prince Harry has spoken confidentially to the royal family about his upcoming memoir. The agent noted that this exciting project is not something Harry would ask permission for, but he made sure to keep the royal court informed of the same.

In a press release (opens in new tab) on Monday, Penguin Random House announced Harry's memoir (opens in new tab), which will be published "in late 2022." In a statement, Harry said, "I am writing this as I am now, not as the prince I was born to be. I hope that by telling my story, I can help show that no matter where we come from, with our peaks and valleys, our failures and lessons learned, we have more in common than we think."

"I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I have learned in my life, and I am excited that people will be able to read a raw account of my life that is accurate and completely true," Duke concluded. He plans to donate the proceeds from the book to charity.

Asked by People to comment on the book, Buckingham Palace said: "For an explanation of this book, please ask the Duke and Duchess of Sussex."

Penguin Random House described the book as follows: "Covering his life in the public eye from childhood to the present day, from his dedication to service, to his military obligations that took him twice to the front lines in Afghanistan, to the joy he found in being a husband and a father, this book is an account of Prince Harry's offers an honest and captivating personal portrait, showing readers that behind everything they think they know is an inspiring, courageous, and uplifting human story.
