Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly want to christen Lilibet in Windsor in front of the Queen.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle (open in new tab) are planning a trip to England for their daughter Lilibet Deanna (open in new tab), if new reports are true.
According to the Daily Mail (opens in new tab), the Duke and Duchess of Sussex (opens in new tab) plan to have Lilibet christened in Windsor, where their British home Frogmore Cottage (opens in new tab) is located. A royal source also said that the couple's desire to have the queen (opens in new tab) attend Lilibet's christening may also motivate them to have the christening in Windsor, where the queen has spent most of her time since the beginning of the pandemic.
Apparently, Harry laid the groundwork for this plan when he returned home earlier this month to help unveil a memorial statue (opens in new tab) to his late mother, Princess Diana, at Kensington Palace in London.
"Harry had told several people that he wanted Lili to be baptized in Windsor as well as her brother," a royal source told the Mail's Richard Eden for his Eden Confidential column.
The royal source also revealed that Harry and Meghan (open in new tab) are in no hurry and are "content to wait until circumstances allow" if it means Lili will be baptized in Windsor in the presence of the queen.
If the trip goes through, it would be Lilibet's first trip to the UK, her first visit with royal relatives, and Meghan's first return to the UK since the royal exit and Archie's first since late 2019.
