Blake Lively condemns "deceptive" photo coverage by paparazzi "stalking" children in the AU edition of the Daily Mail.

Blake Lively (opens in new tab) is complaining about the disturbing and dangerous practice of paparazzi taking pictures of celebrity children.

On Friday, Daily Mail Australia posted a photo on Instagram of Lively and her three daughters, James, 6, Inez, 4, and Betty, 1 (opens in new tab), out and about in New York." Is Blake Lively a hands-on mom as she deftly tugs on all three daughters while out and about in New York City?" The outlet captioned the post, which included a composite shot of two photos, one showing the actress smiling and waving at the camera as she pushed two of her daughters in a stroller and carried the other on her hip.

In the comments section of the post, Lively shared photos of her own children and blasted the site for contributing to the problem of paparazzi stalking (and in many cases scaring and traumatizing) celebrity children in pursuit of photos.

She also pointed to the fact that posts such as Daily Mail Australia paint an inaccurate picture of celebrity-paparazzi relationships, especially when the former's children are involved. She said, "They edit these images together to make it look like I'm waving happily. But that is deception," she wrote, later explaining that the photo of her smiling was part of a deal she made with one of the photographers in exchange for leaving the children alone.

In a candid and powerful comment on the post, Lively wrote:

The post has since been deleted, but "Comments by Celebs" (opens in new tab) includes the post and Lively's comment (and the children are shared with a star emoji pasted over the children's faces to protect their privacy:)

The actress continues to follow the story, and in the comments section of the Comments post by Celebs, she also thanked the page for sharing her account of the incident, and thanked the children's paparazzi comment to provide tips to fans and readers who want to let the press know that they oppose the photos.

"Thanks for sharing. One simple thing people can do is to stop following or blocking publications or handles that publish photos of children." Feel free to report it. Or send a DM sharing why you don't follow them. But that is a simple way to only agree with publications that are morally responsible. Many publications do. All publications are trying to serve their readers. So if its audience makes it clear that they don't want something (such as pictures of children obtained by men scaring or stalking children), the publication or account will do what the audience wants. That is the only way many companies have already stopped. Because people wanted it. So thanks to everyone who has already made that difference. And thanks for sharing. It's fucking scary."

Lively (opens in new tab) is not the only celebrity parent who has voiced concern for her child's safety when it comes to dealing with paparazzi. Others, including Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard (opens in new tab), have also spoken out on the issue over the years.
