Gigi Hadid Announces Important Keepsake to Pass Down to Kai
In her latest cover interview for Harper's Bazaar (opens in new tab), Gigi Hadid talks about keeping a diary as a way to process her emotions and reveals that she plans to pass her pregnancy diary on to her daughter Kai one day. She said, "When I was pregnant, I had what I call a good diary and a bad diary," she said. But one was for my memories and one was for Kai. Maybe one day I will give her the bad diary.'
Asked about what she wrote in the "bad" diary, Hadid spoke of the worries she experienced during her pregnancy: "There were days when I felt anxious and like, 'Am I good enough to be a mother?' There were days when I would feel like, 'I'm not good enough to be a mother. "I didn't want to feel guilty about feeling those things or writing them down. I liked to detach."
"I also have a sketch pad where I sketch in watercolor, and sometimes I write on that," Hadid continued. 'Sometimes I write on the back of receipts and stick them in my notebook. I'm not picky, I have journals all over the house. I just grab whatever is handy and write in it."
Last month, Harper's Bazaar (opens in new tab) asked Hadid, who had Kai with boyfriend Zayn Malik last September, what she likes about parenting (opens in new tab). She replied, "It's a lot of work, but I love it all." There's her patience and unconditional love as a mother. I love watching her grow and learn every day. She makes me so proud of her. It's amazing how excited I get over the little things."
