Gillian Anderson explains why she stopped wearing bras.

If you're a bra wearer and fear returning to the daily discomfort caused by underwear once you begin to free yourself from the tyranny of the underwire during lockdown, you might seek inspiration in the iconic Gillian Anderson, the X-Files legend who on Tuesday Speaking to fans on Instagram Live, she revealed that she has abandoned bras altogether.

Asked about her preferred lockdown ensemble, Anderson said, "I don't wear bras anymore. I don't wear a bra. I cannot wear a bra. I can't wear a bra. I don't wear bras. I don't care if my breasts reach my navel. I won't wear a bra anymore. It's too fucking uncomfortable."

Anderson, who was recently nominated for an Emmy for her role as Margaret Thatcher in "The Crown," revealed that her choice of clothing is "probably the same" both in and out of captivity. And comfort is key: Anderson says, "I wear comfortable black track pants and a matching black hoodie. Every day if I can. Sounds good to me.
