Kate Middleton, in an emerald green dress, on a Wimbledon date with Prince William.

Kate Middleton (opens in new tab) made a public appearance Saturday to attend Wimbledon with her husband Prince William (opens in new tab).

The outing marked the end of Kate's period of restraint (opens in new tab), which began after she learned last week that she had been in contact with someone who tested positive for the coronavirus. Kate's love of Wimbledon is well known among royalty and tennis fans, and it was fitting that she was able to watch the women's singles final between Ashleigh Barty (Australia) and Karolina Pliskova (Czech Republic) on day 12 of the championships in person.

When Barty defeated Pliskova in the final, Kate was given the honor of presenting her with the Venus Rosewater Dish trophy:

But perhaps the real highlight for royal watchers was when Will and Kate (open in new tab) came while watching the game in the stands:

On the fashion front, Kate stunned (as always) in a gorgeous emerald green cap-sleeved Emilia Wickstead dress and white pumps:

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (new tab opens in new tab) also shared a video and photos of the day on Instagram, captioning the post:

"What a great match and performance by both players! Congratulations on winning Wimbledon. It was great to see the atmosphere and support from the fans echoing around Centre Court once again. Thank you Wimbledon and staff for continuing to create such a special event."
