Prince George reportedly "begged" Prince William to accompany him to the European soccer championships.
Prince George (opens in new tab) knows what he likes, and at the top of that list is soccer (Americans call it soccer) and his father Prince William (opens in new tab).
Last month, George made a rare public appearance at London's Wembley Stadium to watch the UEFA EURO 2020 Round of 16 match between England and Germany.
George's appearance was a surprise. According to royal expert Duncan Larcombe, 7-year-old George, known for his love of soccer, "begged" his parents to take him.
"William would not normally have taken him to soccer because it was an official outing as president of the FA, but George absolutely begged to be allowed to accompany him," Larcombe told OK (opens in new tab) magazine (opens in new tab) (Daily Mail (opens in new tab))
According to Larcombe, George had a "pretty big personality" and "twisted his parents' arms" to let him go.
"So when Kate came and William had to meet all the dignitaries, we made sure George could stay with her," Larkom added.
George's insistence on watching the games was not only because of his love of soccer. It was also a chance to spend quality time with his father, whom experts say is his "hero."
"George worships his father. That's why we saw him dress so smartly in his suit."
The outing was also an opportunity for George to practice socializing with some very famous and important people. At the match, the Cambridges were seen chatting with David Beckham and sitting one row in front of Ed Sheeran.
Whether George will join Will and Kate again for tonight's Euro 2020 final at Wembley remains to be seen, but we hope so.
