Prince Charles and Prince Harry reportedly plan secret dinner for Harry's last visit

Prince Harry (opens in new tab) may have taken the first step toward repairing his relationship with his father, Prince Charles (opens in new tab).

According to the Daily My (open in new tab)l (open in new tab), a royal source said that when Harry returned to the UK for the unveiling of a memorial statue (open in new tab) in memory of his late mother, Princess Diana (open in new tab), the estranged father and son planned to have a one-on-one dinner together They made plans for a one-on-one dinner.

Prince Charles was in Scotland when Harry and his brother Prince William (opens in new tab) unveiled the statue in London, and according to a report in the Daily Mail, Prince Charles met up with his youngest son to discuss Harry and Meghan Markle's They were planning to return to London to begin the process of resolving some of the issues they publicly discussed in a conversation with Oprah Winfrey (opens in new tab). At least Charles was reportedly not looking forward to having such a difficult conversation.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, "A nervous Charles was said to be 'dreading' the dinner, perhaps in case he was misunderstood by the Duchess of Sussex back home in California and made a blunder that could be repeated."

Nothing is said about how the secret dinner took place or whether it actually took place. We will have to wait and see what progress is made between Harry and the rest of the royal family, but as the Mail points out, the mere fact that such plans are being made is a step in the right direction.
