Meghan Markle did not use the royal title on Lilibet's birth certificate, but Prince Harry did.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle (opens in new tab) are doing things differently as parents for the second time.
As reported by People (opens in new tab), the couple's daughter, Lilibet Diana (opens in new tab), recently released her birth certificate, which has several key differences from that of their oldest son, Archie Harrison (opens in new tab). Specifically, there are two major differences in the way Harry and Megan's names are listed. First, Harry and Megan's names (open in new tab) appear differently on Lili's birth certificate and Archie's birth certificate, and second, they chose very different ways to identify themselves on the new document.
On Lilibet's birth certificate, Harry's first name is entered as "Duke of Sussex" and his last name is "His Highness." Meanwhile, Princess Meghan chose not to use any royal titles on Lili's birth certificate, instead listing her name as Rachel Meghan Markle; according to People, the document required the couple's real names and Meghan's maiden name.
This is significantly different from the style of the couple's names on Archie's birth certificate, which listed Harry and Meghan (open in new tab) as "His Royal Highness Henry Charles Albert David, Duke of Sussex" and "Rachel Meghan, Duchess of Sussex," respectively. different from the style of the couple's names on Archie's birth certificate.
Another difference," according to People, Archie's birth certificate lists Harry and Meghan's occupations (open in new tab) as "Prince" and "Princess of the United Kingdom." Lili's California birth certificate does not list her parents' occupations. The birth certificate does, however, contain some new information about the birth of the Sussex couple's daughter, including that she was born on June 4 at 11:40 a.m. and that Harry and Meghan received her at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
