Prince Harry reportedly returned to California on Friday following the death of Meghan Markle's uncle

It appears that Prince Harry's (open in new tab) most recent return to the UK is already over.

The Daily Mail (opens in new tab) reports that the Duke of Sussex headed to the airport on Friday to catch a flight back to California. Apparently, a black 2019 Volkswagen Caravelle, which was part of the "convoy" that picked up Harry from the airport after he landed in London a week ago, was spotted leaving Harry's British residence, Frogmore Cottage (opens in new tab) in Windsor. According to the Daily Mail, the car was led by a police escort and drove straight onto the tarmac at London's Heathrow Airport Terminal 5.

If Harry was indeed in the 2019 Volkswagon Caravelle headed to Heathrow on Friday, then the royal family's trip home was only two days outside the mandatory quarantine period. One reason for Harry's immediate return might be the recent death in Meghan Markle's family (opens in new tab).

On Thursday, hours before Harry and his brother Prince William (opens in new tab) were to unveil a statue at Kensington Palace honoring their late mother, Princess Diana (opens in new tab), news broke that Meghan's 82-year-old uncle Michael Markle had died after a battle with Parkinson's disease

"Mike was a lovely, gentle, soft-spoken old man," a source told The Sun about Meghan's uncle. He was always happy to be asked about Princess Meghan, but whenever he spoke to anyone, he always wanted to talk about his late wife."

According to another report in the Daily Mail, Mike Markle (her father, Thomas Markle's brother) had never met Prince Harry, but was "very proud" of Meghan and happy to have a royal in-law.

"He was quite well known in his community for being Meghan's uncle, and although he didn't often agree with the way she did things, he always stopped by for a chat to say how proud he was of her," a source told the Daily A source told the Daily Mail. He would always just laugh and say, "It's not every day you get a prince in the family!" and he would just laugh and say, "It's rare to have a prince in the family!"[13
