Dionne Warwick Supports Britney Spears After Conservatorship Hearing
Dionne Warwick spoke out in support of Britney Spears on Twitter Wednesday after Spears asked a Los Angeles court to end her 13-year "abusive" conservatorship (opens in new tab). At a remote hearing, Spears said her conservatorship forced her to perform, forced her to take lithium against her will, and prevented her from having her IUD removed. 'I want my life back,' she said. This conservator is doing me harm."
"My heart goes out to Britney Spears. I truly do. I feel her pain. Who on earth could endure what she has endured? Warwick said. 'Thirteen years of bondage. That's exactly what this is."
"Do you have any idea how much effort this young woman has put into giving you pleasure?" she continued. And what is it that makes her feel unable to have such pleasure, unable to feel good about herself?"
"And what is it that makes her feel unable to have such pleasure? Bondage is not something that should be allowed in 2021. She has qualities that she should want to live as she wants to live, where she wants to live, with whom she wants to live.""Give her her rights back. Give her her life back. Set her free," Warwick concluded. 'Britney, I feel your pain. And I totally agree. Yes, I do. That's enough. That's enough. May God bless you, keep smiling, and give you the strength and means to continue fighting for your freedom. Take care, my darling.
