Prince Harry reportedly had a "lads lunch" with friends in April, but Prince William did not attend.
Prince Harry (open in new tab) appears to be reconnecting with an old friend.
According to the Daily Mail (opens in new tab), the Duke of Sussex decided to spend time with old friends when he was in the UK for Prince Philip's funeral (opens in new tab) this spring.
"After the wedding, Harry cut everyone off from England, but now he is finally showing signs of wanting to reconnect with his old life," said a source to the Daily Mail. 'Harry's friends are delighted that the old Harry has come back out of his shell. They are beginning to realize that he doesn't have to abandon his old life in order to enjoy his new life in California with Princess Meghan."
According to sources, the group at the April "youth luncheon" consisted mostly of key figures from Harry's wedding party (opens in new tab), but one VIP from the wedding, Harry's best man and brother Prince William (opens in new tab), was notably absent It was notable that he was.
"The two worlds he now occupies are not mutually exclusive for his friends, as they may be for his family," the source said.
"It is sad that William was not included in the youth luncheon Harry had planned for his last visit. The only royals who seemed to meet with him a lot were Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank."The exact guest list for the April get-together has not been revealed, but Harry's close friends who may have been considered for such a gathering include "Deputy Best Man" Jack Mann, as well as Charlie Van Straubensee (opens in new tab), Arthur Landon, and Mark Dyer, who the Daily Mail reports is Harry's "replacement godfather."
Of course, we have to take with a grain of salt any reports that do not come directly from the royals themselves, but if the reports are true, we can only hope that Harry and William will be reunited during their visit to the UK for the unveiling of Princess Diana's memorial statue at Kensington Palace.
