Prince William and Prince Harry "started arguing" at Prince Philip's funeral, royal historian testifies.
Prince William and Prince Harry (opens in new tab) met for the first time in months this spring for Prince Philip's funeral, but the reunion did not go well.
Royal historian and biographer Robert Lacey (opens in new tab), author of Battle of Brothers (opens in new tab), writes about the moment in a new article in the Daily Mail (opens in new tab). According to Lacey, despite the hope that the funeral would "bring the warring brothers together," things quickly took a turn for the worse, with the brothers arguing "within minutes of entering the castle and stepping out of the camera's view."
"They started arguing again," Lacy added.
Lacey also quoted a family friend who described how tense things were between Will and Harry at the funeral (opens in new tab).
"They were there, at each other's throats as fiercely as ever," a royal source told Lacey. 'The anger and rage between those two has gone incredibly deep. Too many harsh and hurtful things were said."
According to Lacey, when Harry was in England for Philip's funeral (opens in new tab), there was "no reconciliation" between the brothers and their conflict "is not going to end anytime soon."
We can only hope, of course, that these reports are not accurate and that the royal family can repair their relationship while Harry is in England this month (opens in new tab) ahead of the unveiling of Princess Diana's memorial statue at Kensington Palace.
