Rare Photos of the Queen, Meghan and Harry on Display at Buckingham Palace

The Queen had an audience with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Wednesday, the Guardian (opens in new tab) reported. The monarch spoke with the prime minister at Buckingham Palace, with a framed photo of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on a side table in the background. The snapshot bore a striking resemblance to a rare shot from their 2017 engagement photo shoot. Although it was never officially released, Sussex fans first spotted the photo in the background when Prince Harry met with Nepalese Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli (opens in new tab) at Kensington Palace in 2019.

In a sweet snapshot, Harry has his arm around Meghan's waist and she has her hand on his chest. Meghan wears a gorgeous pale blue dress, while Harry wears a blue suit, white shirt, and blue tie. At Buckingham Palace, the Queen displayed the photograph in a silver frame, along with snaps from a photo shoot of Kate Middleton and Prince William, an official 90th birthday portrait with Prince Charles, and other family photos.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex named their second child, Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor (opens in new tab), after the Queen and Lili's late grandmother, Princess Diana. In a statement, the Sussexes said, "The name Lili is named after our great-grandmother, Her Majesty the Queen. Her middle name, Diana, was given in honor of her beloved late grandmother, Princess Diana."

The Sussexes then consulted the Queen before using the Queen's family nickname (opens in new tab). 'The Duke spoke with the family prior to this announcement. During that conversation, the Duke expressed his desire to name his daughter Lilibet in honor of her. If her grandmother had not been supportive, they would not have used this name."

Additionally, Meghan and Harry introduced Lili to the origin of her name as soon as they arrived home from the hospital (opens in new tab). A source told People that the two new parents were "very excited and couldn't wait to share that their daughter had arrived." Adorable!
