Prince William and Kate Middleton did not meet with Prince Harry after Prince Philip's funeral for fear of leaks
The relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry (open in new tab) is still strained by all accounts.
Royal historian Robert Lacey (open in new tab), in a new update to his royal biography Battle of Brothers (open in new tab), said the tension between the brothers has very real implications. According to Lacey, fearing "leaks" to the media, William and his wife, Kate Middleton (opens in new tab), stopped being with Harry when he visited the UK for Prince Philip's funeral this spring.
"They told their friends that there was no point in talking to Harry. Because if you talk about anything of substance, it goes straight back to Meghan and gets leaked through Oprah (Winfrey) and the other tentacles of the Sussex Network," Lacey explained, according to the Sun (opens in new tab).
This is not the first time reports have surfaced that the royal family is worried about the Sussexes (opens in new tab) leaking details of their private conversations to the media. The Sun's report also includes a statement from another royal writer on the subject, Phil Dampier. [Prince Charles and Prince Williams are afraid that their discussions with Harry will soon leak out." They will be worried that if they find out, no matter how minor, it will become public knowledge and make it very difficult to heal any long-term wounds."
"With the unveiling of the statue of Princess Diana (open in new tab) at Kensington Palace, one hopes that Harry's next visit to the royal family will open up a channel of communication.
