Blake Lively baked a watermelon cake this week.
Blake Lively (opens in new tab) will leave you impressed, but also envious and feeling inadequate.
The 33-year-old actress took to Instagram on Thursday to glimpse her latest culinary creation: a picture-perfect watermelon cake. And we don't mean watermelon-flavored cake. I mean a cake that looks exactly like an actual watermelon.
According to Blake, this modern marvel was created using Betty Crocker's Bake'n Fill, which she apparently has owned and hoarded (but never used) since she was a teenager.
"The benefits of being a hoarder #492: you're at ready with your Betty Crocker Bake & Fill -that you haven't used since you were 17- moment someone requests a watermelon cake," she captioned her Instagram post, which also included a video of the moment the watermelon cake was sliced and a selfie of Blake herself posing with a slice." Shout out to all my fellow nuts as seen on TV. Let's pull out the Euroseal next."
Blake has not used this Betty Crocker Bakinfill since she was 17. That means she hasn't practiced making cakes like this for at least 16 years (to be honest, even her high school baking doesn't sound like she was just sitting around on nights and weekends perfecting the art of fruit doppelgängers with cake. But maybe she did. (Ordinary people like us can't understand how the gods spend their teenage downtime.) Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, this is inspiring. Again, I bow down to Blake.
