Prince Charles "Can't Handle" Prince Harry's Criticism, Royal Expert Says

Apparently, Prince Charles (opens in new tab) cannot stand criticism from his son, Prince Harry (opens in new tab).

In an interview with Us Weekly magazine (opens in new tab), royal writer (and personal friend/voice coach to Princess Diana (opens in new tab)) Stewart Pearce (opens in new tab) said, "Perhaps [some royal] behavior is not necessarily just plain classified observations about not being emotionally intelligent," offered a comment explaining to an outside party.

One of these was about Princess Diana's former lover, Prince Charles, who has recently clashed with the couple's youngest son, Harry. [For example, Prince Charles is a very, very shy man, very sensitive and delicate, but we see his public persona, but privately he is very sensitive," Pierce said.

The author of "Diana, Voice of Change" (opens in new tab) further discussed Prince Charles' reaction to Diana's alleged affair. In particular, Pearce sees echoes of Diana's experience of conflict with Charles in Harry's comment that he has not been communicating much with his father recently.

"What he did was to shrink away, which resulted in aloofness. Well, it doesn't heal the challenges that are going on," Pierce said of Charles' reaction to Diana's public disclosure of information about his affair. 'That's just the way Charles is. ...... He's sensitive, he can't deal with it, he hides. What Harry is trying to do is heal it. Harry is not out of anger, revenge, criticism, or blame, but just to say, 'This is real, and I'm not going to let it get to me.'

This is obviously a delicate situation and one can only hope that everyone involved can heal and reconnect when the time comes.
