Meghan Markle and Princess Diana "both wanted something they couldn't get from the Queen," says royal expert.

Queen Elizabeth (opens in new tab) has a tough job, and the most difficult part is balancing royal interests and personal life issues. Of course, anyone who has watched Netflix's "The Crown" knows that royal expert Matthew Dennison, author of The Queen: An Elegant New Biography of Her Majesty Elizabeth II (opens in new tab) is a royal expert, Matthew Dennison offers some new insights into the Queen's relationship with Princess Diana (opens in new tab) and Meghan Markle (opens in new tab).

"The queen doesn't talk about her feelings and doesn't encourage others to talk about theirs," Denison explained to the Mirror (opens in new tab).

Denison suggested that this closed approach to talking about feelings may have made Princess Diana and Meghan (opens in new tab) feel unable to connect with the queen in the way they wanted to.

"Diana met with the queen over and over again, but in the end she felt it was the same conversation over and over again. Diana never forgot who her mother-in-law was, and that became a barrier that the queen did not create," he explained. 'It was because Princess Diana was still a little girl, whereas Meghan was a grown woman with a lot of life experience when she became a member of the royal family. But I think both women were looking for something that they didn't get from the queen."

"I think that the queen was a very good woman, and I think she was a very good woman.
