Hocus Pocus 2": Everything We Know
Updated May 20, 2021: "Hocus 2" is officially underway. Sarah Jessica Parker revealed on Instagram on Thursday that the popular 1993 film will finally release its long-awaited sequel." Yup. I'm going to start running. The actress also revealed that the movie will be available on Disney+ in the fall of 2022.
Parker's original co-stars Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy also shared the movie's poster on their respective social media sites, confirming that the wicked threesome will reprise their roles as the Sanderson sisters for this occasion.
According to People (opens in new tab), the film revolves around "three young women who accidentally bring the Sanderson sisters back to modern-day Salem and must figure out how to stop child-hungry witches from wreaking havoc on the world." Filming is scheduled to begin this fall.

He added. So, ...... Is it safe to assume that what awaits us in the future is a sequel to "Hocus Pocus"?
Parker told Bozz on Thursday that she, Najimy, and Midler were all "very favorable to the idea" of a sequel, Us Weekly reports (opens in new tab)." She continued, "I think for a long time people were talking about it as if they were really going ahead with it, but we didn't realize it. Now we're all saying to the right people, 'Yes! I think we've come to the point where we publicly agree, 'That's a very, very fun idea. So let's wait and see. Let's see what the future brings."
Last October, Midler told "Entertainment Tonight" (open in new tab), "Oh, my. I hope they catch me before I'm a corpse," and added, "We want to fly again. I hope Disney+ is a huge success and we get to be in it. I can't wait to read the script, because [Winifred] is one of my favorite characters, of course. I can't wait to see how it turns out."
Najimy also spoke to "Entertainment Tonight" and said, "Sarah, Bette and I have a lot of projects and things that we're crazy about. I don't know if the worlds will collide so that all three of us can be on the show at the same time." The fans are really enthusiastic and really want it," she continued, "and if we can't all be in it, I think it would be great to have a cameo. I think it would be really fun," he added.
