Meghan and Harry Make Major Donation to Help Homeless Pregnant Women

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry celebrated Mother's Day in the nicest way possible: through the Archewell Foundation, they made a generous donation to Harvest Home (opens in new tab), a Los Angeles-based organization that provides housing and support programs for pregnant women experiencing homelessness. Princess Meghan and Harry partnered with Procter & Gamble to check off all items on Harvest Home's online wish list, including a year's supply of diapers and cleaning supplies.

The Duchess of Sussex also wrote a touching personal letter to Harvest Home, the organization revealed on Instagram. Meghan wrote, "As a mother and an expectant mother, I deeply understand the importance of community support, safe and accessible pregnancy resources, and trusted guidance in a nurturing environment."

"These elements are essential to our physical health as well as our spiritual well-being, and I commend you for leading a caring community that lives these values."

"Thank you for all that you do for women and mothers who, through no fault of their own, are forced elsewhere," she continued.

"When you consider how vulnerable any mother is during the fragile time of pregnancy, you begin to see how difficult it is for pregnant women of color and those from disadvantaged and vulnerable communities. We hope that you will accept our offer of assistance to further uplift the residents of Harvest Home."

"In honor of Mother's Day, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan, recognize the work of Harvest Home, a Los Angeles-based organization that uplifts pregnant women experiencing homelessness." said a statement on the Archewell website (opens in new tab)." Harvest Home goes to great lengths to provide comfortable housing for these women and programs that will help them start their journey to motherhood on stronger footing.

"In its exceptional facilities, Harvest Home meets the needs of expectant mothers by providing community support, safe and accessible pregnancy resources, and trusted guidance in a nurturing environment, all of which are essential to their physical health as well as their emotional well-being." The statement continues. With the new facility under development, Harvest Home will continue to expand its care and support to more women and children for years to come." [Happy Mother's Day from all of us at Team Archewell! May we recognize and support expectant and nursing mothers, and all mothers, every day of our lives and communities in the year ahead."
