Meghan Markle wears meaningful girl power necklace in Vax live video

Meghan Markle (opens in new tab) is giving new meaning to the term "statement necklace."

This weekend, the Duchess of Sussex appeared on Global Citizen's broadcast of "Vax Live: The Concert To Reunite The World" (opens in new tab), where in a pre-recorded message, she discussed the pandemic Mick's impact on women, and especially its future impact on women of color.

The video was shot outdoors in a lovely garden, in which Meghan wore a beautiful $1,690 poppy print shirt dress by Carolina Herrera (opens in new tab). She also adorned the look with a powerful and meaningful necklace.

The necklace appears to be Awe Inspired's 14k gold Woman Power Charm Necklace (opens in new tab). According to the official product description, it is "adorned with a genuine purple amethyst, a protective stone associated with abundance and enlightenment.

The necklace retails for $140 and is currently (and surprisingly) sold out, but appears to be expected to be restocked. To receive notification of restocking (opens in new tab), you can sign up here.

In her speech, Meghan spoke about the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on women, especially women of color.

"This past year has been defined by the community coming together tirelessly and courageously to tackle COVID-19. And we are gathered tonight because the road ahead is looking brighter, and as VAX LIVE campaign chairs, my wife and I believe it is critical that our recovery prioritize the health, safety, and success of all, especially the women who are disproportionately affected by this pandemic." We believe that Women, especially women of color, have had generations of economic gains wiped out. Since the pandemic began, nearly 5.5 million women have lost their jobs in the United States and an additional 47 million women worldwide are expected to fall into extreme poverty."

Princess Meghan also made a rare comment about her daughter, due this summer.

"My husband and I are thrilled to be welcoming our daughter soon," she said. It is a joy we share with millions of families around the world. When I think of our daughter, I think of the young women and girls around the world who must be given the ability and support to move us forward."
