Princess Charlotte, who just turned six (opens in new tab), is ready to be a teen like many other children. Prince William revealed that Kate Middleton and her husband's only daughter, who celebrated her sixth birthday on May 2, has been telling everyone that she is 10 years older than she really is.

"She's six, yeah," he said Tuesday during an engagement in the West Midlands, via the Daily Mail (opens in new tab). "Charlotte says, 'I'm six now, I'll do whatever I want.' They grow up really fast."

William detailed how his family celebrated Charlotte's birthday over the weekend at Anmer Hall, a country house in Norfolk. With the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, it was not a full-blown party, but they celebrated a little more grandly than last year. She had a lovely birthday," said Hall. Unfortunately for her, there was no birthday party last year because she was incarcerated, and this year there was only one other family. So it wasn't really a party, but we made it as fun as we could for her."

The family shared a photo Kate took of Charlotte over the weekend. The self-described "16-year-old" daughter was wearing a Rachel Riley floral dress.

Riley told Elle.com about the selection and what it was like to watch Charlotte's style grow. She said, "It was such a joy to see Princess Charlotte in our button-front floral dress for her 6th birthday! She looks so happy in the pictures," the designer said.

"Princess Charlotte wore our similar button-front dress when she visited the garden her mother designed for the Chelsea Flower Show in 2019. It's fun to see that this dress is a style that a 4-year-old can wear just as adorably as a 6-year-old."

"The dress she wore when she was 4 featured a delicate, goofy print in pastel pinks, blues, and yellows, but the style she wore in recent photos she has opted for a larger print with a strong color palette. This print features large pink flowers on a navy background, matching the older girls' tendency to opt for bolder fashions.
