In a pre-recorded video message that played during the broadcast of Global Citizen's "Vax Live: The Concert To Reunite The World" (opens in new tab) Saturday night, Meghan Markle said that the pandemic is affecting women, especially women of color. Meghan Markle gave a short speech about the long-term impact of the pandemic on women, especially women of color. In the video, Meghan spoke about her unborn daughter, who will be part of the generation of women affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Sharp-eyed fans noted that her choice of watch seemed to pay homage to an important woman of the generation before her own: Prince Harry's late mother, Princess Diana.

Royal fans quickly noticed that Princess Meghan appears to be wearing a gold Cartier tank watch (opens in new tab) in a short video (opens in new tab). Princess Diana was often photographed wearing her own Cartier Tank at royal functions in the 1990s.

Of course, it is worth noting that Princess Meghan was a fan of timeless Cartier timepieces long before she joined the royal family. The former actress bought herself a Cartier Tank watch during her time on Suits, and has said that she plans to pass it on to her daughter (open in new tab) one day.

"I've always admired Cartier's French Tank watch," she told Hello Magazine in 2015. "I had it engraved on the back with 'To M.M. From M.M.' and plan to give it to my daughter one day. That's what makes the piece special, it's my connection to it."
