Prince Harry and Meghan Markle share new photos on Archie's birthday

Baby Archie Gets Big In honor of their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor's second birthday today, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released a new image of the two toddlers on the website of their nonprofit, Archiewell. The sepia-toned photo shows Archie from behind in an adorable knit sweater, tiny pants, and sneakers, holding a bouquet of balloons to celebrate his special day.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex surprised royal fans with this new photo after announcing plans (open in new tab) for a charity in honor of Archie's birthday. On Archie Well's website, the duo called for donations to the Vaccine Alliance Gavi to help provide equity for the COVID-19 vaccine to underprivileged countries around the world. The Sussexes partnered with Global Citizen to secure matching donations of up to $3 million from the Seedream Family Foundation and the MasterCard Impact Fund.

"We are deeply touched by the warm support our family has received over the past two years in honor of Archie's birthday. Many of you have donated to charities on Archie's behalf, given back on Archie's birthday, or done service projects. You have raised funds for those most in need and continue to do so organically and selflessly. We are so grateful

"We will not have a true recovery until all people, everywhere, have equal access to vaccines. With that intention in mind, we are calling on you to contribute what you can to help us get vaccines to families in the most vulnerable places in the world.

The Sussexes concluded their letter by saying, "There is no more poignant way to celebrate our son's birthday. All of us can make a huge impact if we all show up with compassion for those we know and those we don't. Even small contributions can have a ripple effect. Together, we can lift each other up, protect each other, and care for each other."
