Courteney Cox Reveals Uncomfortable Truth About "Friends" Fountain

Don't be fooled by the bright smiles and positive vibe of the "Friends" cast dancing in the fountain during the opening credits: according to Courteney Cox, the filming of that scene was actually quite disastrous. What's more, Cox revealed that although the scene actually became the final product after only a few seconds of the cast frolicking in the water, it took hours to shoot that scene. Uncomfortable! As [E! reports (opens in new tab), Cox was a guest on today's episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and was seen talking about "Friends" in a preview clip. When asked by DeGeneres whose idea it was to jump into the fountain, Cox said, "Well, it definitely wasn't my idea. We were in that fountain for a long time. It's no fun dancing in a fountain for hours on end."

"I remember Matthew Perry saying one time, and we didn't know each other that well at the time, but I remember, and this is Matthew, he was like, 'I can't remember a time when I wasn't in this fountain,'" Cox He continued. Literally, he was like, "How long am I going to pretend that I like to dance in the water?" I was like, 'How long am I going to pretend I like dancing in the water? But it was fun, but not really.

The long-awaited "Friends" reunion (open in new tab) was recently filmed and confirmed in a post on the show's official Instagram page. 'It was incredibly emotional. It's an unscripted reunion, but we got to be on stage 24 for the first time in 15 or 17 years.

"I have the worst memory, so everything I'd forgotten just came out. There were lots of special surprises, and it was great."
